How You Can Keep Your Water Safe
You can take a few simple steps to help keep your water system clean and safe:
- Run all taps weekly, especially in rooms that are rarely used
- Keep hot water above 50°C to help prevent harmful bacteria
- Report any issues immediately, such as hot water not heating properly or cold water that feels warm for more than a minute
- Clean showerheads regularly to prevent bacteria buildup
- If you’ve been away for more than two weeks, run all taps for five minutes before using the water
