Timely Rent Payments

Paying your rent and any service charges on time helps keep your home safe, secure, and well maintained. These payments cover your housing costs, repairs, and the services we provide.

Your Rent

We want paying your rent to be simple, and we’re here to help if you ever need support. Rent is due weekly in advance, starting on the first Monday after your tenancy begins. If you’re unsure how much to pay, please contact us. We can explain your charges and help you check that you’re receiving the correct benefits.

What is a Rent Review?

Rent is reviewed once a year, usually in April. We will always: Write to you at least 4 weeks in advance Explain your new rent and service charges Tell you why the amount has changed If Housing Benefit or Universal Credit helps cover your rent, you must inform them of any changes.

What is a Service Charge?

Some homes have a service charge in addition to rent. This covers shared services or facilities that help keep your home and surroundings safe, clean, and comfortable. Your tenancy agreement explains which service charges apply to your home.

What Service Charges Can Include

Depending on your property, your service charge may cover: Cleaning of communal areas Gardening or grounds maintenance Fire safety equipment checks Communal lighting Lift servicing (if applicable) Door entry systems You are only charged for services you actually receive.

How Service Charges Are Set

Service charges are reviewed annually. Each year we will: Write to you before any changes take effect Explain your new charge and why it has changed Show how it affects your total weekly rent and charges

How to Pay

Service charges are usually paid along with your rent. If you receive Housing Benefit or Universal Credit (Housing Costs), these may cover some or all of your service charge, depending on your circumstances. If your service charge changes, you must inform Housing Benefit or Universal Credit as soon as possible.

How Much Will I Have to Pay?

Your rent and service charge help us: Maintain and look after your home Carry out day-to-day repairs Manage your tenancy and keep homes safe Provide shared services such as cleaning, gardening, or fire safety checks (if included in your service charge) Your tenancy agreement details exactly what you pay and when.

How to Make a Payment

You can pay your rent and service charges in a way that suits you. The easiest methods are: Direct Debit – the safest way to ensure your rent is always paid on time
